Interactive Media – Project 2 – “Lights”

In this game, I wanted to experiment with how light affects the senses, how light (and some sounds) can fool us, and we can manipulate light to create a mood or tell a story. In the beginning scene, you go towards a light at the end of a tunnel. When you get close to it, it suddenly becomes brighter and you hear a train sound. However, there is no train really there. It shows how a combination of stimuli to certain senses while lacking in other senses (sight in this case) can cause us to assume something, which may not always be correct. For example, someone could easily have stood at the end of the tunnel and flashed a light in your face while blasting a train sound on some speakers, and if you didn’t know about the person, you might assume it’s a real train.
